Dhankiuta : CPN-UML President KP Sharma Oli, who was on the Sankalp Yatra on the central hilly highway, was attempted to be assaulted at Legua in Dhankuta.

After the UML’s ‘Jhulaghat Chiwabhanjyang Sankalp Yatra for Prosperity’ team entered Dhankuta from Bhojpur, local Mahesh Rai tried to attack Oli in Mahalakshmi Municipality 5 Legua.

After crossing the Arun river bridge, Rai, who was standing in line to welcome Oli, approached Oli and tried to hug him. However, immediately the police and those who were in the campaign could not touch Oli after holding Rai’s hand. Rai was immediately detained by the police.

On the other hand, CPN-UML has insisted that there was no attempt to attack President Oli. UML has alleged that the incident of trying to hug President Oli has been exaggerated.
