Kathmandu : Marking the World Environment Day 2024, Ncell and Nepal Youth Council (NYC) are set to plant 7,700 trees in 77 districts across the country under One Youth One Plant campaign #OneYouthOnePlant.

Under this joint initiative, mass tree plantation will be done across all the 77 districts in all seven Provinces on June 28, 2024 coinciding with the World Plantation Day, Ncell said in a press note today.

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, Ncell has collaborated with the NYC to launch the “One Youth One Tree” campaign. In this initiative, 100 youths from each of Nepal’s 77 districts will plant 100 trees in their respective areas, contributing to a total of 7700 trees planted across all 7 Provinces. This campaign will be carried out in collaboration with provincial and local governments.

Ncell believes that this initiative will help to inculcate the message of responsible action among the youths of Nepal.

Ncell, as part of its CSR initiatives, has been conducting various social projects under Health, Education, Environment and Youth Empowerment programs among others in different parts of the country in collaboration with various partners.

“Today, marking the World Environment Day, we are delighted to announce this exemplary initiative of plantation of 7700 trees in 77 districts in collaboration with NYC. We believe that via these kind of social initiatives we will be reaching all the regional footprints and engage with the local communities and youths for social projects that will further help us create a value addition among the general public and we are hopeful that our ongoing collaboration with NYC will help amplify the impact of the overall project,” said Bishakha Lakshmi Khada, Head of Corporate Communications and CSR at Ncell.

Sharing his views, Saroj Baniya, Founder and Central President of NYC, said that NYC has initiated tree plantation campaign, prioritizing the national agenda set by the Government of Nepal. “This campaign is launched in collaboration with Ncell, aiming to engage local youth in environmental protection and foster social transformation.”

Ncell has been working in the area of Youth empowerment, entrepreneurship development, leadership, livelihood support, among other areas in collaboration with NYC, and other stakeholders as part of its social initiatives.

Ncell and NYC have also successfully completed Provincial Youth Conference in 5 different Provinces so far.
