Kathmandu : Prime Minister KP Oli will seek a vote of confidence this coming Sunday.

Oli will seek a vote of confidence from the House of Representatives on July 21, Sunday, according to UML Whip Mahesh Bartaula.

On the same day, a hearing is scheduled at the Supreme Court regarding the writ petition filed against Oli’s appointment as Prime Minister.

As per constitutional provisions, a Prime Minister appointed under Article 76 (2) must secure a vote of confidence from the House within 30 days.

However, Bartaula stated that Oli plans to seek the vote within a week. Oli was appointed Prime Minister this past Sunday.

He was appointed by President Ramchandra Paudel with the support of the Nepali Congress.

Oli claimed the premiership with the support of 166 members of Parliament from the Nepali Congress and UML.

He has already been sworn in at the President’s Office on Monday. This marks Oli’s fourth term as Prime Minister.
