Kathmandu is always drowning, floods hit the slums twice in one week (photo feature)

Kathmandu : In recent times, when it rains, Kathmandu Valley is flooded. After three major floods in the last one month, the settlements along the river banks of the valley have been badly affected.

Various parts of the Kathmandu Valley have been waterlogged due to incessant rains occurring since Monday night.

The areas from Balkhu to Chobhar have been inundated, bringing the normal life of people into a grinding halt.

According to the Valley Traffic Police Office, main and subsidiary roads in areas including Koteshwar, Balkhu, Maitighar, Lainchaur, Putalisadak, Kesharmahal have been waterlogged.

Similarly, the road from Balkhu to Chibhar via TU Gate has been inundated, creating difficulty for locals in traveling. The water has collected in the areas including Sundarighat, Kumari Club and Kirtipur Gate.
