PM Oli urges people’s representatives to focus on service delivery
Kathmandu : Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has urged the peoples’ representatives to focus on effective implementation of federalism by establishing cooperation and dialogue with people.
In a meeting with the office bearers of the Kathmandu Valley Mayors’ Forum at Singha Durbar on Wednesday, PM Oli viewed any problem could be resolved with smooth coordination among the federal and local governments.
“People’s representatives are elected to work for people. So we should not be guided by pride and arrogance, but politeness and honesty to people. We do not have the right to oppress and hurt people,” said Prime Minister Oli reminded, adding that social media and anonymous compliments are not sustainable.
The Forum drew PM Oli’s attention to the issues such as Nepal Electricity Authority imposing street light bills on the local level and showing arrears.
In response, PM Oli assured that he would facilitate to resolve the issue through relevant ministries and agencies.
Similarly, PM made it clear that the government was aware of the need for a sustainable solution to waste management.
The Chairman of the Forum, Chiribabu Maharjan, wished successful tenure to PM Oli and sought his support to serve people through mutual relations and coexistence of tiers of government.
