Kathmandu : Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has issued an ultimatum to the Chandbagh School, operated by the Chaudhary Group, to vacate its premises within two days.

The school, located in Bansbari, has been operating on land that was once the site of the Bansbari Leather Shoe Factory but was later nationalized.

The Chaudhary Group had been running Chandbagh School on a 10-ropani plot of government land, which had been transferred to their name.

However, this land has since been nationalized, and the KMC is now enforcing the vacating of this property, which was initially established under the government’s name by the Land Management Office Dillibazar.

According to the Office, the 487-square-meter plot, Lot Number 58, has been retained under government ownership.

The Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police had earlier requested the transfer of this land back to the government.

The Land Reform and Land Transfer Office in Dillibazar called upon Sanjay Thakur, the Chairman of Chandbagh Residency Pvt. (formerly Champion Footwear Pvt.), to address the issue.
