PM for universalizing Nepal’s unique cultures

Kathmandu : Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that several cultural and unique traditions of Nepal should be universalized by promoting them.     

Addressing a programme organized at Tundikhel in Kathmandu to mark the Gaura Parva today, Prime Minister Oli urged all to act responsibly to safeguard Nepal’s natural and cultural diversities. “We have several cultural diversities and unique cultures. They should not be forgotten and should be universalized,” he said.     

The Prime Minister was of the view that the Sudurpaschim belt of Nepal is the origin of Nepal’s civilization and the cultures, lifestyles and traditions from there should be protected and promoted.     

Likewise, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba said the Gaura Parva has spread the message of unity and brotherhood adding that this festival is the grand and unique festival of Sudurpaschim and Karnali provinces.     

Similarly, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Badri Prasad Pandey said the Gaura Parva carries the messages of self-discipline, decency, goodwill and affinity, and called for all to translate these characteristics into practice.     

Minister for Forest and Environment Ain Bahadur Shahi said this festival has played a role in the promotion of national unity and goodwill.     

Furthermore, former Deputy Prime Minister Bhim Bahadur Rawal also wished peace, happiness and prosperity to all Nepalis on the occasion of the Gaura Parva festival.
