US Army in Kathmandu to conduct joint exercises with Nepali Army
Kathmandu : Ateam of the United States Army has arrived in Nepal to conduct a joint military exercise with the Nepali Army.
The joint exercise called Pacific Angel will commence on September 16 and end on September 20.
The Nepali Army headquarters, Bhadrakali announced that the Nepali and US armies will collaborate to optimize disaster search and rescue operations and exchange expertise, knowledge and best practices to enhance efficiency.
This is the fourth edition of such exercises with the US which started 12 years ago. According to Bhadrakali, the military exercises will be conducted in Kathmandu, Makwanpur and Dhading districts.
The Nepali Army and the United States Army have been conducting military exercises for a long time, with the aim of enhancing the disaster response capacity by exchanging experience in the field of disaster management and humanitarian assistance.
The exchange of expertise through these types of exercises is helping to improve the military’s professional capabilities, the Nepali Army said.
