Chinese emmergency relief action to nepalese victim

Kathamdnu : International Department of CPC Central committee Launches Emergency Relief Action for the 2024 Nepal Flood Disaster On October 4 at 12:00 PM, on the occasion of the 75thanniversary celebrations of China’s National Day.

The International Department of CPC Central Committee launched its emergency relief action for the 2024 flood disaster in Nepal. The kickoff event took place at Shree Mahandra Saraswati Sewa Basic School, in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-12, Kathmandu. Attendees included Mr. Wang Xin, Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Nepal, representatives from major political parties in Nepal, staff from the China Foundation for Rural Development Nepal office and partners, as well as local residents and government officials. During the event, emergency family kits and food packages were distributed to 60 affected households in the village.

Starting from September 26, 2024, the Kathmandu Valley in Nepal has been hit by continuous torrential rainfall, resulting in a catastrophic flooding. The flooding has caused landslides, road blockages, house collapses, and destroyed bridges, leading to significant losses in life and property for the local residents. More than 200 people have been reported dead, with dozens missing and injured. In response to the disaster, Central Committee of the CPC International Department committee quickly took action and support flood effected communities through Nepali parties.

They collaborated with the China Foundation for Rural Development Nepal office to launch the initiative “Join Hands to Face the Difficulties and Overcome the Difficulties Together and the International Department of CPC Central Committee Action to Comfort Affected People in the 2024 Nepal Flood Disaster,” providing humanitarian assistance to the flood-affected people in the Kathmandu Valley. With the support of the International Liaison Department of the CPC Central Committee, the International Department of the CPC Central Committee quickly took action, leveraging its local advantages to organize a professional rescue team.

They efficiently managed the procurement, transportation, and distribution of supplies. After the launch of the emergency relief action, 1,242 sets of carefully prepared relief supplies were swiftly deployed, including toothpaste, toothbrushes, towels, soap, sanitary pad, pressure cooker, plastic container for packaging, blanket, mosquito net, sleeping mat, water jar dispenser with mug, rice, oil, lentil-essential items for the affected communities.

The emergency relief action by the International Department of CPC Central Committee has received widespread attention and support from all sectors of society. Many compassionate enterprises and individuals have expressed their willingness to provide material and financial assistance for the rescue efforts in Nepal, working together to help the Nepalese people overcome this difficult time.

With the combined efforts of the International Department of CPC Central Committee and the wider community, it is believed that the people of Nepal will be able to overcome the disaster and rebuild their homes swiftly
