RSP President Rabi Lamichhane suspended as lawmaker
Kathmandu : Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane has been suspended from the post of the Member of Parliament (MP).
The Parliament Secretariat informed about Lamichhane’s suspension by posting a notice a while ago.
On Sunday, the District Attorney’s Office, Kaski, filed three cases against him for organized crime, money laundering and cooperative fraud.
The District Police Office, Kaski, on Sunday informed Speaker Devraj Ghimire regarding the suspension of Lamichhane.
Meanwhile, RSP Chief Whip Santosh Pariyar, MPs Sobita Gautam and Ganesh Aryal met with Speaker Ghimire on Monday and urged him not to suspend Lamichhane.
In response, Ghimire stated he would determine whether to issue a notice following a thorough review of relevant laws and regulations.
The RSP has said it will move the court against Lamichhane’s suspension.
