Kathmandu : Opposition parties have taken strong exception to the government for bringing ordinances of a serious nature.
Issuing a joint press note, seven opposition parties including CPN (Maoist Center) have come down heavily on the government for issuing ordinances by bypassing the parliament.
“Our attention has been drawn toward the government for making preparations to enact laws through ordinances rather than calling the winter session of the Federal Parliament,” reads the press note, “This government’s move has seriously undermined the spirit of the Constitution and made a mockery of the parliamentary system. It is arbitrary, despotic and highly dangerous.”
The opposition parties have seriously condemned the government’s move to enact laws with significant ramifications through ordinances to serve the interests of the ruling alliance.
