Kathmandu : Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Sudan Kirati, has said that Rabi Lamichhane, the chairman of the Rastriya  Swatantra Party (RSP), should be given the ministry of his choice.

Minister Kirati said this at a program organized by the Federation of Hoteliers and the Nepal Tourism Board on Friday.

Speaking at the inaugural program of Hotel Service Management Training held at Hotel Pauwa, Minister Kirati said, “People have given popular vote to Rabi Lamichhane.” Rabi should now be given the ministry of his choice to respect the people’s mandate. “I am ready to sacrifice what I have to do for that,” said he.

He further said that this system obtained from the sacrifice of thousands of people has not yet gained ground.

“The country’s economy is in a dilapidated state. Let’s form a government of national consensus to resolve its crisis,” Minister Kirati said, “The RSP got the people’s mandate.” This is the outrage of the people. It is the culmination of the inaction on the part of the big parties that are held accountable.

Meanwhile, he called for the formation of a government of national consensus to free the country from the crisis, saying that there are many divisions in politics.

“We were divided a lot in the name of politics. Now let’s form a government of national consensus to bail the country out of the present crisis,” he said, adding, “To register a business, citizens still have to knock the doors of seven ministries, 22 departments and hundreds of desks. It is a lengthy bureaucratic process.”

There are complicated rules and regulations to allow foreign tourists to enter Nepal, he said.

The country is running on the remittances sent by migrant workers, but they are the ones who are suffering because the plane ticket is very expensive.

Minister Kirati also said that tourism will become a reliable source of income only when hoteliers provide unforgettable services to tourists.
