Triangle project will be significant for nation: PM Prachanda
Pokhara : Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that though most of provisions of budget are common for all provinces, a significant and historical plan is going to be implemented in Gandaki.
At a programme organsed by CPN (Maoist Centre) Gandaki Province at Pokhara today, Prime Minister Prachanda shared that policies, programmes and budget for coming fiscal year are being prepared in order to make significant contribution in development of provinces.
The budget brought by the federal government for coming fiscal year 2024/25 has given special priority to transformation of agriculture, development of energy and information technology, tourism promotion, entrepreneurship and industrial development.
“Bharapur, Butwal and Pokhara would be developed as triangle project”, he stressed, adding this project would be important and historical of the nation.
Stating that construction of 1,002 MW-Budhi Gandaki Project would be started, which would make long-term benefit in country’s energy sector, the Prime Minister mentioned that construction of 42 MW-Modi ‘A’ hydropower project would be started.
The government has allocated budget with a plan to make arrangement for pilgrims to visit major religious sites in an easy manner by operating Muktinath Darshan transport service, he explained, adding significant activities would be forwarded to make Gandaki province a ‘tourism hub’.
PM Prachanda further said, “The government has also given special priority to physical infrastructure sector. It has moved ahead in order to complete Muglin-Pohara road expansion task and upgrading Butwal-Pokhara road section to dedicated two-lane as well as launch various programmes to protect and promote history, culture, language and civilization of Bandipur.”
A medical college would be established in Pohara, Pokhara provincial Hospital would be upgraded to 500-bed hospital, different industries including Gorakhkali Rubber Industry would be brought into operation at public, private partnership, which would be significant for the province, he expressed the belief.
