Unified Socialist’s 10th nat’l convention concludes electing 93 CC members

Kathmandu : The 10th National Convention of the CPN (Unified Socialist) has concluded with the announcement of 93 central committee members.

Presidium chairman Jhala Nath Khanal announced a 93-member committee including former politburo members and provincial chairpersons a while ago.

This committee will elect the remaining office-bearers and central members in the next 10 days, presidium member Rajendra Pandey told Nepalkhabar.

Madhav Kumar Nepal, Jhala Nath Khanal and Ghanashyam Bhusal were elected unopposed as chairman, senior leader and general secretary respectively on Thursday itself following consensus reached among the top leaders of the party. 

Unified Socialist will have a 299-member central committee including 21 officers, according to the statute of the party.

Unified Socialist’s national convention which kicked off in the federal capital on June 30 ended today with the announcement of 93 elected members.

As many as 1,849 representatives participated in the national convention from across the country.
