Dang : CPN (UML) Deputy Assembly leader of Lumbini Province, Chet Narayan Acharya, has been appointed as the Chief Minister of the Province.

Province Chief Amik Cherchan on Monday appointed Acharya as the Chief Minister of the Province. Acharya earlier, in the day, had staked a claim for the post with the support of 56 lawmakers from UML and Nepali Congress.

Earlier, UML Lumbini Province Assembly leader Leela Giri was almost certain to become the Chief Minister. However, the last-minute decision from the decision paved the way for the way for Acharya to become the Chief Minister.

He had laid a claim to the post, accordingly.
