Texas, USA — President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Chandra Prasad Dhakal, has called on Nepalis living abroad to invest in Nepal’s high-potential sectors, especially tourism and energy, assuring that the private sector in Nepal is ready to facilitate their initiatives.

Speaking as the keynote speaker at the “Business and Investment Conference 2025” organized by Himalaya Khabar Online in Dallas, Texas, Dhakal said that despite some negative perceptions, Nepal remains a country full of opportunities for investors.

“While challenges exist, Nepal’s business and investment environment is improving,” Dhakal said. “It is time for the diaspora to explore the possibilities in Nepal’s growing sectors such as tourism, hydropower, and infrastructure.”

He highlighted that the morale of Nepali industrialists had been affected by recent disruptions and damages caused by the Gen Z Movement. He urged the government to take strict action against those responsible for vandalism and looting to restore investor confidence.

Dhakal further emphasized that the security of investment, policy stability, and cooperation between the government and the private sector are key to attracting both domestic and foreign capital. He reaffirmed FNCCI’s commitment to working closely with the government and the diaspora to promote Nepal as a safe and profitable investment destination.

“Nepal’s private sector is always ready to coordinate and support genuine investors. We want to see the diaspora contributing to national development through investment,” he added.

The event, attended by Nepali-origin entrepreneurs from various parts of Texas, discussed ways to strengthen economic ties between Nepal and the diaspora. Participants expressed readiness to invest in Nepal if the government ensures an investment-friendly and secure environment.
