Kathmandu : President of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Rabi Lamichhane has been taken to the custody of the District Police Range, Kathmandu.

Former Home Minister Lamichhane was taken to the Police Range, as per the order of Judge Madhav Prasad Adhikari sent Lamichhane to the judicial custody.   

The accused including Lamichhane have been accused of misappropriating funds from Kathmandu-based Swarnalakshmi Cooperative.

Lamichhane himself turned up at the Kathmandu District Court to refute allegations leveled agaist him this morning. The hearing was conducted at the bench of district Judge Adhikari.  

Even though, Lamichhane’s lawyer demanded not to keep him in the judicial custody but hand him over to his family members, Judge Adhikari ordered the judicial custody of Lamichhane citing the principle of judicial equality.
