KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Balendra Shah on Wednesday held a collective meeting and interaction with ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions based in Nepal.

The meeting was held at Singha Durbar, the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers.

Diplomatic representatives from countries including India, Pakistan, South Korea, the United Kingdom, Qatar, Switzerland, France, Israel, Japan, Bangladesh, Germany, Egypt, Sri Lanka, Saudi Arabia, China, the United States, as well as the United Nations, were present at the meeting.

During the interaction, envoys congratulated Prime Minister Shah and extended their best wishes for a successful tenure. They also expressed their commitment to supporting the Government of Nepal in delivering meaningful outcomes for the Nepali people.

Prime Minister Shah reiterated Nepal’s balanced and pragmatic foreign policy, emphasizing the importance of strengthening ties with neighboring countries, friendly nations and development partners based on trust, mutual respect and shared prosperity.

He highlighted peace as a common priority and stressed that the safety and welfare of Nepali workers and the diaspora abroad remain a key concern for the government.

The Prime Minister also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to good governance, economic development and improving the living standards of citizens.

The meeting was attended by Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal, Political Advisor Asim Shah, Chief Secretary Suman Raj Aryal and Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai among other senior officials.
