KATHMANDU: Coordinator of the Nepali Communist Party, Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ has said that the recent party unification was not carried out merely to win elections.

Speaking at a program organized to integrate the Matribhoomi Jagaran Abhiyan led by Bhim Rawal into the party, Prachanda emphasized that the unity was driven by the historic need to safeguard the nation.

“The country is facing an unprecedented crisis—perhaps never seen since the Sugauli Treaty,” he said. “This unification was not done just to win elections, but to respond to the extraordinary situation the nation is in.”

He further mentioned that the “Gen Z movement” and the wave of change it brought had also accelerated the unification process.
