KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu chapter of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) successfully organized a blood donation program at Bhrikuti Mandap Office.

The initiative was launched in response to a shortage of blood reported in hospitals following the recent “Gen Z” performance.

According to FNJ Kathmandu Information Officer Kanti Nyaupane, 55 individuals including journalists and political figures, voluntarily donated blood during the program.

FNJ Kathmandu President Shobha Aryal inaugurated the drive by donating blood herself. Other participants included UML Leader Binda Pandey, Press Chautari Nepal President Ganesh Pandey, former President of FNJ Kathmandu Yubaraj Bidrohi, Senior journalist Prakash Silwal from RSS, and Ramji Bagale from JanaSawal National Daily, among others.

President Aryal emphasized that the drive aimed to support hospitals and the Red Cross in addressing blood shortages, while also raising awareness about the importance of blood donation through active participation from journalists and social activists.

FNJ Central President Nirmala Sharma presented certificates to all participants, praising the district chapter for its creative and humanitarian efforts.
