KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa has said digital governance is essential to end the hardships citizens face while accessing government services.
In a video message shared on social media on Wednesday morning, Mr Thapa said people are often forced to stand in long queues for hours as files move from one office to another, leading to unnecessary delays.
He said the traditional paper based system has made it difficult for citizens to obtain services in a timely manner, and pledged to modernise the system through the use of technology.
“The style of governance and working methods must change to make service delivery simple, swift and citizen friendly,” he said.
Mr Thapa added that the administrative structure should be efficient and result oriented and said the Nepali Congress is committed to improving public service delivery through digital governance.
