KATHMANDU: The Chinese Embassy in Nepal has launched the “Chinese Embassy Youth Pioneer Program” aimed at empowering Nepali youth in leadership, social service, and professional development.
According to the embassy, the initiative seeks to build a strong and influential youth network capable of driving positive social change in Nepal by equipping young people with diverse skills. The one-year program specifically targets young professionals, social workers, entrepreneurs, cultural experts, and active youth aged between 22 and 34.
During the program, participants will have the opportunity to take part in leadership training sessions, workshops, and community-based activities. The embassy stated that participants will also be required to select a social issue based on their interests and expertise, develop an action plan, and actively implement it.

A key highlight of the program is the opportunity for top-performing participants to visit China, where they will gain firsthand exposure to development practices and experiences.
Interested applicants have been invited to apply by May 17, 2026. Following a rigorous evaluation process, only 10 to 20 candidates who meet the program’s criteria will be selected.
The embassy expressed confidence that the initiative will help participants expand their professional networks while also strengthening cultural ties between Nepal and China, fostering greater mutual understanding and cooperation through youth engagement.
