Kathmandu: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has forecast the possibility of light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in several parts of the country today.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, the hilly and mountainous regions of Nepal are expected to witness generally cloudy conditions, while the Terai region will experience partly cloudy weather.

A few places in the hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces are likely to receive light rain with thunder and lightning. Similar weather conditions are also expected at one or two places in the remaining provinces.

Tonight, weather conditions are expected to remain generally cloudy in Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, while the rest of the country will see partly cloudy skies.

The Division said a few places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi Province, along with one or two places in the Terai region of Koshi and the hilly and mountainous areas of other provinces, may witness moderate rainfall accompanied by thunder, lightning and possible snowfall in higher elevations.
