Pokhara: Pokhara Metropolitan City has launched a major clearance drive at the long delayed bus park site in Ward No. 9, aiming to expedite construction of the much awaited transport infrastructure project.

The operation began on Thursday in the presence of Mayor Dhanraj Acharya, with excavators deployed to remove unauthorized structures and other obstacles from the designated project area.

According to metropolitan officials, the bus park project has remained stalled for nearly five decades due to a range of administrative and logistical hurdles.

The ongoing clearance campaign is expected to remove long standing encroachments and create the conditions necessary for construction work to proceed.

The metropolitan city said all unauthorized structures within the project site will be dismantled as part of its effort to complete the long awaited bus park and improve transportation facilities in Pokhara.

Officials expressed confidence that the latest move will help break years of deadlock and bring the project closer to completion.
