Kathmandu: Sandip Lamichhane, who is back at the helm of the Nepali national cricket team, took to social media on Tuesday to praise former captain Rohit Paudel. He didn’t hold back.
Lamichhane said Paudel pushed the national team forward and still has plenty left to give the country. “Thank you Rohit bhai, for everything you’ve done for this team and for leading us through every situation,” he wrote. “Your contribution, commitment, and presence for the team will always be valued. I believe there is much more you have yet to contribute to this team and the country.”
The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) announced on Monday that Paudel was stepping down as ODI captain with Lamichhane taking over the role. Paudel himself has said nothing publicly about losing the captaincy.
But he hasn’t gone unnoticed. Social media has been full of praise calling him a successful captain in his own right. Paudel took over the captaincy in the first place when Lamichhane was suspended over a rape accusation.
