KATHMANDU: The Mahakali Highway has been blocked by a landslide at Bitkam in Dogadakedar Rural Municipality-5 of Baitadi district.

The highway was obstructed after rocks and debris fell onto the road from the hillside above the road section on Monday morning, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Deepak Kumar Raya, chief of the District Police Office, Baitadi.

Police said efforts are underway to clear the debris using JCB excavators. The blockage has disrupted vehicular movement along the highway. Authorities are working to reopen the road as soon as possible.
