Tensions across the Gulf have escalated following reported attacks attributed to Iran, with several countries claiming to have intercepted incoming threats.

Saudi Arabia said it had successfully thwarted missile and drone attacks, intercepting and destroying eight ballistic missiles and ten drones. According to officials, some of the projectiles were aimed at the capital, Riyadh.

The Saudi Civil Defence reported that debris from a downed drone fell in Al-Kharj province, injuring two people and damaging six houses.

Meanwhile, reports indicate that an oil tanker from Kuwait caught fire at Dubai Port following the Iranian attack, raising further concerns over the security of key energy infrastructure in the region.

The United Arab Emirates said its air defence systems were actively responding to missile and drone threats and that authorities were closely monitoring the situation.
