
KATHMANDU: The government has made public the key decisions taken during the Cabinet meeting held on Tuesday afternoon at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers. Minister for Communications, Information and Technology, Bikram Timilsina, shared details of the decisions.
The Cabinet has decided to form a recommendation committee to appoint the Chairperson of the Nepal Securities Board. The committee will be led by Dr. Gunakar Bhatta, Vice Chairperson of the National Planning Commission. Members include Finance Secretary Ghanshyam Upadhyaya and Bhuvan Kumar Dahal of Kathmandu.
The meeting also approved the submission of several amendment bills to the Federal Parliament. These include proposed amendments to the Nepal Special Service Act, 1985; the House of Representatives Election Act, 2017 and the Voter List Act, 2016.
Similarly, Dilliram Acharya of Pyuthan has been appointed as Chairperson of the Problematic Cooperative Management Committee. Navaraj Simkhada of Dhading and Roshan Bahadur Shakya of Lalitpur have been nominated as members.
The government stated that these decisions aim to strengthen administrative reforms, update legal frameworks and improve the management of the cooperative sector.
