
Seoul, South Korea: The Non Resident Nepali Association NRNA National Coordination Council South Korea has continued its long running “Buddha Was Born in Nepal” campaign by organizing a special hiking event at the famous Dongmyosan Mountain in South Korea on Sunday.
The program, which has been conducted regularly since 2008 aimed not only to spread awareness about Lord Gautam Buddha’s birthplace in Nepal but also to promote Nepal’s tourism potential among the international community and local Korean citizens.
During the mountain hiking event, representatives from the Nepali diaspora shared the historical fact that Lord Buddha was born in Lumbini, Nepal while also spreading the message of peace associated with Buddhism.
Alongside the Buddha campaign, participants highlighted Nepal as one of the world’s most attractive tourist destinations, promoting Mount Everest, other Himalayan ranges, renowned trekking routes and the country’s unique natural beauty.
NRNA South Korea stated that it has been continuously organizing such creative and awareness based programs for the past 16 years to preserve Nepal’s historical identity abroad and contribute to the promotion of tourism.
The event witnessed a significant participation from the Nepali community living in South Korea.
