Kathmandu: India’s Smriti Mandhana has become the highest run scorer in women’s T20 internationals. She passed New Zealand great Suzie Bates during India’s Asian Games semi final against Bangladesh.

Mandhana was out for 37 off just 19 balls in that match. It was a short innings but was enough to take her to the top of the list.

She already holds another big record. Mandhana is the leading run scorer in all of women’s international cricket. She reached that mark during the 2026 Asia Cup match against Hong Kong, China.

She made her international debut in 2013 and has scored runs steadily ever since. Today she is fifth in the ICC Women’s T20I batting rankings and first in the ICC Women’s ODI batting rankings.

Last year, Mandhana hit her first T20I century against England. That made her the first Indian batter to score a hundred in every format of the women’s game. She was also part of the Indian team that won the 2025 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup.

Mandhana now has 10,987 international runs. She has 4,788 in T20Is, 5,411 in ODIs and 788 in Tests. She has hit 14 ODI centuries, two T20I centuries and two Test centuries which makes 18 international hundreds in all.
