Kathmandu, Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) has suspended the system that set the weighted average price during the last 15 minutes of trading in the stock market.

According to NEPSE, the system, which had been implemented since Chaitra, set the weighted average price between 2:45 PM to 3:00 PM as the final trading price. This system has now been temporarily suspended, informed NEPSE’s Information Officer, Mura Hari Parajuli. The decision to suspend the system was directed by the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON).

As per Parajuli, technical testing of the revised system will take place today. The new system will be implemented starting from Tuesday, as tomorrow is a public holiday.

In the amendment made to the Securities Trading Regulations (Fourth Amendment), 2081, the provision under Regulation 11, Sub-regulation 7, stated that the weighted average price between 2:45 PM and 3:00 PM would be considered the final trading price. If no transactions were made during that time, the last traded price would be considered the final price.
