Kathmandu: Nepal secured its second consecutive victory in the ACC Women’s Premier Cup with a convincing 51 run win over Bhutan on Saturday.

Chasing a target of 114, Bhutan struggled against Nepal’s disciplined bowling attack and managed only 62 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

Dechen Wangmo was the lone bright spot for Bhutan, scoring 39 runs off 69 balls, while the rest of the batting lineup failed to make a significant impact.

Earlier, Nepal endured a shaky start after being put in to bat, slipping to 67/7. However, experienced campaigners Sita Rana Magar and Rubina Chhetry steadied the innings with a crucial 40-run partnership for the eighth wicket.

Sita top scored with 37 runs from 28 balls, while Rubina contributed 24 off 21 deliveries, helping Nepal post a competitive total of 113 runs.

With the ball, Rubina capped off an all-round performance by claiming three wickets for 15 runs, while Riya Sharma chipped in with two wickets for 20 runs.

The victory marks Nepal’s second win in a row in the tournament, strengthening their position in the competition.
