KATHMANDU: Floods and landslides triggered by heavy rainfall have obstructed several road sections across Nepal, disrupting transportation in different parts of the country.

According to police, vehicle movement has been affected along several major highways and roads due to flooding and landslides.

The Mechi Highway in Ilam, BP Highway in Kavre, Kanti Lokpath in Makawanpur, Araniko Highway in Sindhupalchok, Trishuli-Mailung Road in Rasuwa and Mid-Hill Highway in Nuwakot have been blocked.

Similarly, the Toka-Chhahare and Daman-Pakhrin road sections in Dhading, Ghorahi-Thawang road section in Rolpa and Jajarkot-Dolpa road section in Rukum West have also been obstructed.

Meanwhile, traffic is operating on a one-way basis along some road sections in Palpa, Manang, Baglung and Mustang due to flooding and landslides.

Authorities have urged motorists and travelers to exercise caution, warning that continued rainfall could trigger further floods and landslides and cause additional disruptions to road connectivity.
