KATHMANDU: One foreign national has died and another person was injured after two helicopters collided while landing at a helipad in Pheriche, Khumbu Pasanglhamu Rural Municipality-4, Solukhumbu, on Tuesday morning.

The accident occurred at around 8:11am when helicopters operated by Fishtail Air and Dynasty Air collided while landing, according to the initial report by Nepal Police.

The injured person was flown to Lukla by a Prabhu Helicopter for treatment, accordingto police. No fire broke out following the collision.

Further details, including the identities of the deceased and injured and the circumstances of the accident, are awaited.
