KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is holding a Secretariat meeting today to discuss the latest political developments and contemporary national issues, with the government’s response to the devastating Bhotekoshi floods expected to be a key agenda item.

According to RSP spokesperson Jagadish Kharel, the meeting will begin at 10 a.m. at the party’s central office in Banasthali, Kathmandu.

Party President Rabi Lamichhane will chair the meeting. Leaders are expected to review the situation following the August 26 Bhotekoshi flood, which caused widespread loss of life, displacement and extensive damage to infrastructure and economic activities.

The meeting is also expected to assess the ongoing search, rescue and relief operations in the flood-affected districts, where a large number of people remain missing.

The RSP Secretariat will discuss the government’s handling of the disaster, including rescue, relief and rehabilitation efforts, and is expected to determine the party’s position on the government’s response and the measures needed for recovery.
