The Cha:mati Police Beat under Kathmandu Metropolitan City-16 has officially reopened today after undergoing full reconstruction.
The police post had been severely damaged during the recent “Zen Z” protest, which saw widespread demonstrations and clashes in the area. Following months of rebuilding efforts, the facility has now been restored and is ready to serve the community once again.
At a formal ceremony, Ward-16 Chairperson and Reconstruction Committee Coordinator Rojina Shrestha handed over the symbolic keys to Gyan Bahadur Bishta, Chief of Balaju Police Circle, marking the beat’s official resumption of service.

The newly built facility is expected to improve police presence and response time in the area. To further support smooth policing, local resident Devendra Shrestha provided a vehicle free of cost for police use.
Expressing gratitude to all supporters and well-wishers, Chairperson Shrestha said the reconstructed police beat would play a crucial role in strengthening local security and community trust.
