KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane has urged people to strengthen social harmony and national unity, highlighting the importance of festivals in bringing together communities across Nepal’s diverse cultural and religious traditions.
In a festive message shared on social media on Sunday, Lamichhane extended greetings on the occasions of Tihar, Nepal Sambat and Chhath, expressing hope that the celebrations would promote love, mutual respect and understanding among individuals, families and communities.
He said the festivals provide an opportunity to reinforce the spirit of togetherness and strengthen Nepal’s identity as a nation united in its diversity.
Describing Tihar as a festival of lights, joy and enthusiasm and Chhath as a celebration of faith, devotion and dedication, Lamichhane wished everyone happiness, peace, prosperity and renewed hope.
He also announced that he would celebrate this year’s Chhath festival at Ganga Sagar in Janakpurdham, a significant religious site associated with Chhath celebrations.
His planned presence in Janakpur, he said, would convey a message of national solidarity and shared cultural identity.
