Kathmandu: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) rose for a second day on Friday, the last trading day of the week. The index added 17.15 points to close at 2,591.80, after a small gain on Thursday.

The Sensitive Index rose 3.80 points, the Float Index 1.42 and the Sensitive Float Index 1.50.

Turnover climbed from Thursday’s Rs 3.93 billion. On Friday, investors traded 12.905 million shares of 353 stocks in 52,044 transactions, worth Rs 4.84 billion.

No stock gained more than 5 percent. Kutheli Bukhari Small Hydropower rose the most, 4.91 percent, a day after it hit the upper circuit.

Sindhu Development Bank and Solu Hydropower each gained over 4 percent. Ridge Line Energy was the weakest, down 7.85 percent.

Kumari Bank had the highest turnover at Rs 211.1 million. Ghalemdi Hydro came next with just over Rs 200 million, then Himalayan Distillery with about Rs 190 million.

Every sub group closed in the green. Banking rose 1.28 percent, the most of the 13. Hotel and Tourism was up nearly 1 percent and the others gained less.
