
KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index closed slightly higher during Thursday’s pre-open session, recovering minor losses from the previous trading day.
The benchmark index rose by 1.68 points to settle at 2574.03 points. In the previous trading session on Wednesday, the index had dropped by 6.38 points to close at 2572.34 points. Meanwhile, the Sensitive Index—which tracks the performance of class ‘A’ stocks—also ticked up by 0.24 points during the session.
A total of 4,909 shares changed hands via 82 transactions across 52 unique scripts, racking up a total turnover of Rs. 3,475,832.80.
Out of the traded equities, the stock prices of 15 companies advanced, while 31 companies recorded losses. The share prices of the remaining 6 companies stood unchanged by the end of the pre-open window.
