KATHMANDU: The Nepal Premier League (NPL) will feature two crucial fixtures today, with Sudurpaschim Royals facing Karnali Yaks in the afternoon before Chitwan Rhinos take on Pokhara Avengers in the evening.

The opening match is scheduled to begin at 12:30 pm at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur.

Sudurpaschim Royals will enter the contest aiming to secure their third victory of the season. Having played four matches, they have registered two wins and two losses. A win in today’s encounter would help them strengthen their position in the race for the playoffs.

Karnali Yaks, meanwhile, have secured four points from their first three matches, winning once and losing twice. They will be hoping to turn their campaign around with a victory in their fourth outing.

The second fixture will take place at 5 pm, featuring Chitwan Rhinos and Pokhara Avengers.

Chitwan have accumulated three points from three matches, including one victory, one defeat and a tied result. Currently placed third from the bottom of the points table, they will be looking to collect another win and improve their position.

Pokhara Avengers, however, are under pressure to register their first victory of the tournament. After struggling to produce winning performances in their previous outings, they will be determined to overcome Chitwan and get their campaign back on track.

With the tournament progressing, both fixtures could prove important in shaping the points table and determining the teams’ playoff prospects.
